Stop by and say “hi!” this Friday (April 14th) and Saturday (April 15th) as we close up our St. Helens Ave
location! We have partial kegs of Broken Window IPA and Black Cat Coffee Stout
and when they’re gone – the taproom closes! Friday hours are 4:20-9pm and if
there’s beer left, we’ll be open Saturday until it’s gone.
Don’t fret though, our new location at 1116 Court E, Tacoma, WA 98402 is
scheduled to open Saturday, May 6th for a soft open.
Thank you for your support!
We are in the final days of a Community Sourced Capital fundraising campaign to help us move into a larger location and get bigger equipment! We’ll have more on the big move later. Unlike Kickstarter, when you contribute to us via Community Sourced Capital, you are making a loan. In other words, you get your money back.
What do we need the money for? For the past 3 years, we have hobbled together a brewery using a little ingenuity, resourcefulness, and sheer brute force. Well, that can only get you so far. We are at the point where we need to go big or go home. We have gone from doing 5 and 10 gallon batches to doing 60 gallon batches. In order to get to the next level, we need to do 465 gallon batches – a 15 barrel system. These systems cans cost $200-$300K. Not cheap. But they are made out of beautiful stainless steel!
So, we are gathering all the resources we can pull together and hope that you can help out. The money that we put together will then be taken to our bank to be used as leverage for getting a Small Business Administration loan. Next, our funds and the SBA loan together will be leveraged for a special loan offered through the City of Tacoma for businesses just like ours.
It’s a big dream, but we’re not doing small things.
Please help us out by sharing our Community Sourced Capital fundraising page with your friends and if you are able to, make a small contribution to our campaign. The loans start out at $50 and go to $1,000. If you would like to make a loan larger than $1,000, please contact me directly.
Thank you for your support!

The bottles were printed by hand and no two are alike. The stout was aged in JP Trodden bourbon barrels for 18 months. On tap at the event, will be four variations of Black Sun made with coffee, chili, licorice, and cocoa nib. $20/bottle (22 ounce). Admission is free. Guests may purchase a limited edition taster glass which comes with 6 tasting tickets for $20. Additional tickets may be purchased for $1. Special guest beers will also be on tap for the event. The Rolling Crust will be on hand making pizza with their portable wood fired oven.
Black Sun 2015 is a refined Russian Imperial Stout aged in JP Trodden bourbon barrels for over 18 months. The huge size of this beer is belied by a light mouthfeel, low sweetness level, and very little alcohol burn. Flavors of cherry, chocolate, malt, molasses, oak, port wine, on the palate – and of course, tons of bourbon.
Date: Saturday, December 12, 2015

In my eyes, indisposed
In disguises no one knows
Hides the face, lies the snake
The sun in my disgrace
Boiling heat, summer stench
‘Neath the black the sky looks dead
Call my name through the cream
And I’ll hear you scream again
Black hole sun
Won’t you come
And wash away the rain
Black hole sun
Won’t you come
Won’t you come (Won’t you come)
Has it been two years already!? We will be celebrating our second anniversary, November 1st, from 2-9pm. A full menu of limited beers will be served, including bourbon barrel aged imperial stout, Anniversary Imperial Stouts of various flavors (licorice, vanilla, coffee), IPAs, and Dr. Alexander’s Hard Ginger Ale! And, as if that weren’t enough, we’ll be having hourly schwag giveaways! As always, Tacoma Brewing is a family friendly brewery. See you here!
You are invited to join us for the momentous occasion of the first bottling of our popular ginger ale! It took much searching to find a bottle as unique as our ginger ale. To take it a step further, we hand silk screened the bottles ourselves. Yes, we’re THAT crazy.
To mark the event, we will be serving ginger ale cocktails and releasing the first bottling of Dr. Alexander’s Hard Ginger Ale. This limited pre-production batch will be available in the taproom as long as supplies last.
Come dressed as your favorite ginger and get a buck off your first bottle! Tacoma Brewing Mug Club members get an additional buck off their first bottle (it’s not too late to join!).
Friday, September 26th – 5-9pm
If you were at The Big Beer Fest last year, then you know what this is about. People are still talking about our Cascade Quad and Four Banger! If you happened to miss it, it was a festival of BIG BEERS – nothing under 9%.
This year, we are continuing this great tradition by putting together a list of triple IPAs, quadruple IPAs, barleywines, and big stouts.
Don’t come on an empty stomach! Outside food is welcome – we have menus for Puget Sound Pizza and Maxwell’s Restaurant + Lounge, plus The Rolling Crust pizza guy will be here!
The tap list:
– Matt’s Barleywine
– Citra Kick Barleywine/Triple IPA
– Simcoe Kick Triple IPA
– Noble Barleywine/Triple IPA
– Cascade Quad (quadruple IPA)
– Licorice Stout
– “Wacked” Stout (Orange/chocolate)
– Nitro Vanilla Stout
– Ashen Stout (aged on ash wood)
We were hoping to offer a Triple Bock, but German ales being what they are, it is running a few weeks late. Look for it in the near future! 🙂
What: The Big Beer Fest at Tacoma Brewing Company
When: Saturday, March 15th, 2-9pm
Tacoma Brewing Company is proud to call Tacoma home. Its rich heritage inspires us, and community support sustains us. For this, we return the favor by donating a full 10% of Thursday taproom beer sales to local charities.
Beginning Thursday, March 6th – coinciding with Tacoma Beer Week – and every Thursday through June, the Emergency Food Network will be the featured organization in the “10% For Tacoma” program. Then, starting in July, a new non-profit partner will be selected on a quarterly basis.
This commitment allows Tacoma Brewing Co. to elevate the financial assistance we can provide to local nonprofits that support us by making Tacoma a better place to live.
Besides the cash donations raised through the “10% For Tacoma” program, Tacoma Brewing Co. also donates beer to many non-profit organizations’ fundraising efforts and provides merchandise for charity auctions on an ongoing basis. “Beer is fun and gets people in the giving mood,” says Morgan Alexander, Tacoma Brewing Co. owner, “and we’re glad to participate knowing that our beer can help the success of community organizations.”
Spaces are still available for the Tacoma Brewing Co. “10% For Tacoma” program. Organizations must be a tax-designated charity or registered non-profit.
“10% For Tacoma” tap nights at Tacoma Brewing Co.
